Neurotoxin Treatment</>

Are you in search of a safe, fast, and effective treatment to give yourself a more youthful and refreshed appearance? We have the perfect solution to help you reach your aesthetic goals. At Chicago Aesthetics Club, our popular neurotoxin treatment is an excellent way to revitalize yourself by reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. At our practice, we carry both Botox®, the most well-known neurotoxin, and Dysport®.

What Is Botox®?

Botox, OnabotulinumtoxinA, is in a class of medications called neurotoxins. In our medical practice, it is used for cosmetic purposes.

Botox injections work by blocking the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for muscle contraction. With less muscle movement, a Botox treatment can reduce wrinkle formation.

In the field of aesthetics, Botox® and Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA) are widely used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face. By injecting small amounts of the neurotoxin into specific facial muscles, Botox can temporarily relax them, leading to a smoother and more youthful appearance. Dysport creates similar results. Botox® Is Used For…

Botox treatment is considered the most popular cosmetic injection procedure nationwide. Over 7.4 million people in the US are receiving Botox. When injected into a muscle, it blocks the nerve signals that cause uncontrollable tightening and movements of the muscle. It blocks the same muscle contraction that causes wrinkles.

The most commonly requested anti-wrinkle treatments are Botox elevens (aka Botox frown lines), Botox forehead, and Botox crows feet.

In addition to softening lines and combating wrinkles, Botox injections can help in other ways. Dr. Sri is one of the leading Chicago Masseter Botox doctors. Masseter Botox can help relieve teeth grinding and jaw clenching. Another use for Masseter Botox is to slim your face.

The Botox lip flip to enhance the top lip is a popular request. Gummy smile Botox to reduce excessive gum show is common too. Botox to stop excessive sweating is another treatment we offer.

What Is a Neurotoxin Treatment Like?

The neurotoxin treatment, a nonsurgical, noninvasive procedure, is quick, relatively painless, and can be completed in a few minutes, making it great for those with a busy lifestyle. Dr. Sri is one of Chicago’s top experts in Botox treatment. The office experience is quiet, private, and streamlined.

Dr. Sri will perform a thorough consultation, listen to your beauty goals, review your medical history, and perform an assessment. Once the recommendations are complete, together, you will decide on how to proceed. Dr. Sri will give you the best Botox advice to achieve natural-looking results.

Tiny medical-grade needles are used for the Botox injections. The procedure is relatively painless. Although numbing is not required, you may request numbing cream prior to your Botox treatment.

Botox® Results

After your Botox injections, you’ll see the final result in approximately 2 weeks. Maintenance botox treatments are recommended every 3 months to maintain your refreshed look. Please note our practice offers preventative Botox (aka baby Botox) as well.

For Botox jaw slimming, results can peak at 6 weeks and can last 6 months. Results of underarm Botox (to reduce sweating) are experienced typically in 4 weeks and can last up to one year.

Details of your specific treatment will be reviewed with you at your visit. Dr. Sri’s goal is for you to look natural and never overdone. Check out our Botox before and after galleries.

Is Botox® Safe?

Both Botox® and Dysport® are FDA-approved medications. Both are purified neurotoxins administered in appropriate doses to reduce the formation of wrinkles. It’s important to remember that all medical procedures carry some level of risk. Potential Botox side effects are usually temporary and localized to the injection site. These include redness, swelling, bruising, and pain. More serious complications can occur in rare cases, such as infection, allergic reactions, or unintended temporary muscle weakening. These complications are relatively uncommon.

It’s important to share your medical history and any medications or supplements you are taking before receiving Botox injections. This information will help to assess whether there are any potential contraindications or increased risks.

Botox in pregnancy and Botox while breastfeeding are not recommended.

It’s also important to follow the post-treatment instructions to minimize the risk of complications and ensure optimal results.

Botox® Aftercare

After receiving Botox injections, it’s important to follow certain aftercare instructions to ensure optimal results and minimize potential side effects. Here are some general guidelines for Botox aftercare:

  1. Avoid touching the treated area for 24 hours
  2. Stay upright for a few hours after the procedure.
  3. Avoid intense physical activity
  4. Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications

A 2-week follow-up appointment is especially important after your initial anti-wrinkle treatment, as this is the most optimal time for adjustments and to assess dosing and techniques for upcoming visits.
